Independent Electrical Contractors Association Visits Historic Selber Building

Henry Ford once stated that, “Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.” At InPwr Inc. we’re not only about quality and taking electrical design and construction to the next level, but also about relationships and the people we employ, do business with, and ultimately the communities we serve.

One of those great partners is the Independent Electrical Contractors Association (IEC) who represents America’s independent electrical and systems contractors, with more than 3,000 members and 50 chapters nationwide. This past week we had the privilege of hosting two of IEC’s executives, Tim Welsh, Sr. VP of Business Development & Industry Relations, and Belean Getachew, Director of Membership, at one of our jobsites in Shreveport, LA. We’re rehabilitating a historical downtown landmark – the Selber building, a former 1950’s department store – into a design build data center for our longtime customer, Venyu Solutions, Inc.

IEC’s commitment to it’s members is evident by their seeking knowledge in our operations, joining us in the field, but more so, the services they offer day-in and day-out to merit shops across the nation. The training and professional development offered across the board, from electricians, estimators, project managers, and all the way up to senior management and business owners, is critical to future success. The business summits and forum groups promote skilled people, better managed processes, which results in a more streamlined organization. Further, IEC’s involvement in local and national legislation is crucial for the advocacy of free enterprise, open competition, and the success of small to medium sized businesses across the nation.

IEC’s support and partnership is one of the many ways we at InPwr Inc. Build It Better!
