Preserving Heritage: Florence Fay Senior Living
92,424 SF Historical Renovation with New Construction Addition | Indianapolis, IN
Preserving History
There is alway something special about turning old into new with historic rebuilds, and Florence Fay Sr. Living does not fall short! A former iconic school building in the Twin Aire neighborhood, Florence Fay was built in 1913 and closed nearly a century later as the neighborhood deteriorated. Fast forward a decade, our customer TWG Development saw an incredible opportunity, and Florence Fay was given new life with a revamp and building addition to this local landmark in southeast Indianapolis.
Honoring the Heritage
InPwr Inc. was thrilled to build it better, bringing new life to the area and filling the historic school’s hallways with laughter and memories once more. Florence Fay is a 92,424 SF adaptive re-use project, where 67,271 SF of the original historic architecture and masonry was celebrated and preserved. An additional 25,153 SF of new construction was added all while adhering to current day code and standards, bringing 73 living units to the local senior community, ranging from studios to two bedroom apartments. For this project, InPwr handed all design / build electrical details to include the electrical distribution, all interior and exterior lighting, interior and exterior power, lines for the phone / TV / security systems, and the fire alarm system.
Award-Winning
Florence Fay Sr. Living was recognized at the 2018 Independent Electrical Contractor‘s President’s Awards Gala, earning the Award of Excellence, Residential Construction in its category. It’s always an honor to receive accolades, and we thank our entire team for their relentless dedication in achieving this accomplishment.
