Going Green: 38th Infantry Division
LED Lighting Project | Indianapolis, IN
Let Freedom Ring!
Our American pride runs deep, so when a project comes our way that benefits our country’s service personnel, we quickly jump in! The 38th Infantry Division is based nearby, and the State Armory Board for the State of Indiana hired InPwr Inc. for an upgrade and to replace all of their existing lighting with new LED light fixtures.
75% Energy Costs Reduction
The benefits of LED lighting are predominantly the energy savings and reduced consumption, along with their sturdiness and expected lifespan of 30,000-50,000 hours! They are efficient and smart. InPwr replaced 1,014 light fixtures and 440 lighting control devices, and for the 38th Infantry, the savings go way beyond the average. In just the short period of time since installation, the lighting energy costs have reduced by 75%! WOW!
In addition to the LED energy savings, InPwr safely recycled the waste materials from this job: 4,234 fluorescent lamps, 32 HID lamps, a compact lamp, 17,040 lbs. of scrap metal, 7,500 lbs. of ballasts, 2,100 lbs. of cardboard, and 3,600 lbs. of plastic!
Award-Winning
While the investment was a wise one for the division, it was also award-winning! InPwr received national recognition at the Independent Electrical Contractor‘s President’s Awards Gala, earning the 2018 Award of Excellence, Energy Efficient / Green Construction in its category. We are truly proud to make a difference in our community, our nation, and mother earth, one fixture at a time!
